What healthcare options are available for military spouses?
Active Duty Spouses: TRICARE Prime (HMO-style, lower costs) or TRICARE Select (more provider flexibility).
Reserve/Guard Spouses: TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) - a premium-based plan when not on active duty orders.
After Separation: TAMP provides FREE 180-day transitional coverage.

What is MyCAA and who qualifies?
MyCAA (Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts) provides up to $4,000 for education and training in portable career fields. Eligible spouses include those married to active duty E1-E5, W1-W2, and O1-O2 service members. The program covers certifications, licenses, and associate degrees in high-demand fields.
What career resources are available?
SECO: Free career coaching, resume assistance, and licensing guidance through Military OneSource.
Licensure Reimbursement: Up to $1,000 per PCS to cover costs of transferring professional licenses to a new state.
Federal Hiring Preference: Noncompetitive hiring authority on USAJOBS - a fast track to federal employment.
Can I use GI Bill benefits as a spouse?
Transferred GI Bill: If your service member transferred their Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits to you, you have 15 years to use them after they leave service.
DEA (Chapter 35): If your spouse is 100% P&T disabled or died from service-connected causes, you may qualify for up to 45 months of education benefits.
What survivor benefits are available?
DIC: Monthly tax-free benefits if your service member died from service-connected causes or while on active duty.
Survivors Pension: Income-based monthly payment for spouses of wartime veterans.
CHAMPVA: Healthcare for surviving spouses.
DEA: Education benefits for surviving spouses and children.
