Military Brands, a company dedicated to serving the military community, has been officially inducted into the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), a Department of War program connecting military spouses with employers committed to flexibility and career growth.
The Military Spouse Employment Partnership is designed to help spouses maintain meaningful careers despite the challenges of military life, such as frequent relocations, deployments, and unpredictable schedules.
Employers in the program demonstrate an understanding of the unique needs of military spouses, providing benefits and policies that support professional development and work-life balance.

Why Military Spouses Are Valuable in the Workforce
According to Adolfo Velasquez, CEO of Military Brands, military spouses bring a combination of skills, adaptability, and resilience that make them an asset to any business:
“Military spouses are incredibly undervalued in our country,” Velasquez said.
“They may move every two years, but that doesn’t mean they lack experience. In fact, they often have a more diverse skill set than most traditional candidates.”
Velasquez highlighted that military spouses often develop expertise in operations, logistics, content production, and customer service, all while navigating the complexities of military life.

Supporting Careers Through Military Life
For Chelsey Jones, Director of Finance and Base Communications at Military Brands and an active-duty military spouse, the company’s support policies have been crucial in maintaining a career amid multiple relocations.
“In a military life where so much changes, my career has been the one thing I could keep steady,” Jones said.
Her family’s move from North Carolina to Guam was especially challenging, but having a portable job meant she could continue working and stay professionally engaged, despite being 14 hours ahead of her team.
Military Brands has built spouse-focused support directly into its policies, including:
- PCS Leave – time off specifically for relocating to a new duty station
- Relocation Stipends – financial support to cover moving expenses
- Flexible PTO – accommodating the unpredictable nature of military life
- Military Spouse Appreciation Day – a company-wide holiday recognizing the contributions of spouses
“Working for a company that values military spouses means I don’t have to choose between my family and my career,” Jones said.

A Model for Employer Support
Joining the Military Spouse Employment Partnership also provides Military Brands with formal recognition as a military spouse-friendly employer.
“It gives us official recognition as a destination for military spouses…” Velasquez said. “...we understand their unique needs, and we are committed to supporting them with flexible policies and meaningful employment opportunities.”
The company plans to continue hiring military spouses in leadership, operations, and content production roles, ensuring that military families have access to stable, fulfilling careers.
By participating in the Military Spouse Employment Partnership, Military Brands is helping spouses sustain their professional growth, contribute to the workforce, and navigate the challenges of military life—setting an example for other businesses nationwide.
