1. Virtual Date Nights

As duty calls, you are separated by a long distance, so for such time, you are in a long-distance relationship, and as we know, there are ways to survive this.

One of them is having virtual date nights, setting this at the end of the week or just when your military spouse has available time. We want to know ahead of time so you can plan what to do on these virtual date nights.

You can plan to watch a Netflix movie together, play an online multiplayer game that bonds you together, or just have a video call over dinner, talking and catching up.

It’s really important to still have date nights, even if they are virtual, as this makes a military couple stronger even if you are not physically together.

2. Adventure and Outdoor Activities

Another idea for a date is to go on an adventure or do outdoor activities. Of course, our military spouses are very active, and they have the need to do adventuristic activities or the need to be outdoors. Your bonding being one with nature.

This helps your relationship to have that teamwork even if it's not always there. You can plan this by choosing a local hiking spot or a camping spot where you and your spouse can do outdoor activities and relax. Or you can join a military couple retreat to amazing campsites.

3. Weekend Getaway

Spending time at your home is different; things can be stressful, especially if you want to spend time with your spouse but your kids are there.

The best option is to book an Airbnb for a weekend getaway or just a staycation for your spouse's free time.

This will give you private time from kids and will allow you to only focus on you and your spouse. In a military spouse's life, this can be an option if your spouse is not feeling up for an adventure or outdoor activities and just wants to stay in bed. You can cook for your spouse, play games, watch movies, or dip in the pool.

4. At-Home Romantic Evenings

Planning an at-home romantic evening can be a perfect date idea, too, as this helps you and your spouse create memories in your own home.

You can drop off your kids at a daycare or even let them join on this date; you can make a candle-lit dinner, you can cook for your spouse, or just order takeout. Either way, this creates a memory at your home, and you still have fun while doing it.

Strengthening Bonds: Military Couple Connection Tips

As a military spouse, it’s indeed hard to plan and make time for date nights as some of our military spouses just want to rest after duty. But we have to make an effort, and these date ideas will help you strengthen your relationship as a military couple.

Even though you are not always together, you make ways to bond or spend quality time with each other, and that is important to make your relationship last longer.
